Jade DesHotel is an American-born professional artist raised three hours outside of New Orleans, Louisiana - a globally recognized cultural and artistic hub.  Her talent in the creative arts was recognized from a very young age; and throughout her life, she has channeled her creativity in various media, including painting, drawing, sculpture, dance, music, poetry, and the culinary arts.  During her undergraduate studies, Jade studied fine art, interior design, literature, and French culture.  She is also a graduate of the Milan Art Institute.  

Along with the cultural and artistic influences of Jade's upbringing in south Louisiana, the region's spiritual and healing influences of African voodoo, Wicca, Catholic mysticism, and folk medicine play huge roles in her artistry today.  She is also heavily influenced by the work of Gustav Klimt, her love for nature, and her connection to God. 

Jade strives to convey the feelings of divinity, power, abundance, love, and inner freedom in her work.  Many mornings, while in a lucid dream state, Jade receives flashes of images for new paintings. Her process begins loose to foster personal expression and right brain activation.  She then typically refines her pieces with oil and metallic paints to depict scenes of elegance and abundance.  “I like to imagine summoning my subjects out of the nothingness, alchemizing something chaotic and more elemental into something harmonious and divine. And my hope is that the viewer sees his- or herself in the painting. That they feel as powerful as I imagine the subject to be”, she says.  Jade's paintings speak to our inner healer - the god and goddess within each of us - and provokes our inherent power and limitless potential, even in our everyday lives.  She hopes to help unlock this potential within us all so we might collectively alchemize and transcend our struggles to create a life worthy of who we truly are - a life of magic, beauty, joy, and inner wealth.  In her words, “We have all the power we’ll ever need to completely transform our world, to liberate ourselves and create lives of magic and freedom.  We just have to believe it.”

Jade currently works in her prolific studio in south Louisiana. She plans to travel the world and collaborate with other artists to spread her message of our potential to transform life into something more beautiful and magical than we have ever imagined.
